Alien Roadkill

ALIEN ROADKILL. A documentary about African-American poet Lamont B. Steptoe and his search for the aliens who abducted him in Philadelphia. Steptoe is an American Book Award winner and suffering from post-traumatic syndrome resulting from the Vietnam War. In 2008, he taveled to Roswell, New Mexico to the Roswell UFO Festival to find the aliens he encountered and seek spiritual solace at the famed crash site. SOUND BARRIER. Legendary filmmaker Amir Naderi had the audacity to compose his next film of only two scenes, plus a brief prelude and epilogue. Out of this massive risk has come an undeniable masterpiece, Sound Barrier. An 11-year-old boy, Jesse, travels from Manhattan with a letter and a key to a Queens storage unit. In this tiny room, he searches for an audio cassette recording of his deceased mother. Desperate to hear her voice, he hopes she will provide clues to their past and himself. But even if he finds the tape, Jesse will face another obstacle. He is both deaf and mute. Screened at the Tribeca, Vancouver Film Festivals and won critics awards at the Torino and Roma Film Festivals.
